In The Basement
These are conversations that matter on four parts of our lives we all have to deal with: Fear, Anxiety, Guilt and Shame. Doctors’ Noel Due and Kirsten Due talk about these things from a psychological, medical and biblical view in a relaxed and non-judgmental way.
Across the four part series, they explore fear, anxiety, guilt, and shame as powerful inner realities that shape how people live, relate, and understand themselves. They show how fear can quietly control behaviour, how anxiety feeds on uncertainty and the desire for control, how guilt can either lead to restoration or become distorted into condemnation, and how shame strikes at identity and belonging. Each theme is examined with honesty, recognising both its human depth and its spiritual implications. Throughout the series, the consistent message is that these burdens lose their power when brought into the light of truth and grace. In Christ, fear is met with love, anxiety with trust, guilt with forgiveness, and shame with restored identity, inviting listeners into greater freedom and wholeness.
These sessions were recorded with a live audience over four Tuesday nights in August 2018. They aim to inform and facilitate discussion of the above topics within a Christian framework. They do this in a way that opens up authentic relationships and deepens your understanding of your Faith. The venue was “the Basement”, which is just that: the basement of Schaedel House, one of the oldest houses still standing in the Barossa Valley, South Australia.
