Living Free: Session 1 – Part 2
In this session, Doctor Noel Due examines how fear and insecurity shape relationships and decision making. He explains that much human behaviour is an attempt to manage vulnerability. We protect ourselves through control, withdrawal, or defensiveness, often without realising what is underneath those responses.
He emphasises that fear thrives in distorted beliefs about God’s character. If God is seen as distant or demanding, anxiety increases. When God is known as gracious and present, fear loses its grip. Understanding the nature of God is central to experiencing internal freedom.
Doctor Noel Due encourages a shift from self protection to trust. This does not remove difficulty, but it reframes it. As trust deepens, the need to control lessens. Living freely involves resting in the assurance that identity and security are grounded in God’s faithfulness.
