Galatians Part 5
Pastor Robert begins this session with Paul’s clear declaration that it is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Freedom is not permission to live selfishly but release from the burden of trying to justify ourselves. He explains that if righteousness could come through the law, Christ died for nothing. Adding circumcision or any other requirement to the gospel undermines grace. Faith expressing itself through love is what counts.
He then turns to the contrast between the works of the flesh and the fruit of the Spirit. Pastor Robert makes it clear that freedom does not remove moral responsibility. Instead, life in the Spirit produces visible change. The works of the flesh are destructive and self centered, while the fruit of the Spirit reflects Christ’s character. This fruit grows as believers remain connected to him, not through pressure but through transformation from within.
Pastor Robert encourages the congregation to walk by the Spirit daily. The Christian life is not about external rule keeping but about an internal renewal that shapes behavior. When we belong to Christ, we have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Living in step with the Spirit brings unity, patience, kindness, and self control. True freedom leads to a life marked by love and service.
